International K-9 Search and Rescue Services

June 27, 2017

Hello, my name is Mr. Harry Oakes. I'm the K9 Search and Rescue Coordinator for International K9 Search and Rescue Services. We're on call 24/7 to respond anywhere in the world to search for missing persons. Many times the missing cases involve persons that suffer from Dementia. It can be a long frustrating search. If you have someone in your family that suffers from Dementia, please do the following:

Make sure that if your family member suffers from Dementia that you put some laminated id on them that tells EMS, Fire, Police and Search and Rescue who they are and how to contact you.

Also get on their cell phone service as a provider so that if they disappear with their cell phone, you can ask the cellular service to PING your missing phone and this will show you and us, where they are.

If you aren't on the plan the cellular phone service won't do this without police search warrant and many departments won't even try.

Make sure that if they disappear you have the local law enforcement put out a "SILVER" Alert. to notify the public and law enforcement right away that they are missing.

Many folks that suffer from Dementia resort back to the days when they were younger. They may ride a bus, they may drive to their favorite camping area or fishing hole, they may while hiking resort to playing hide and seek with searchers.

That's why it's important if they are on foot to get a search dog tracking them right away.

If they are in the city they may fall victim's to gangs, unreputable people who may use them for sex, or steal their money, or other property.

We'll need to know their name, last known address, city, state, zip code, telephone # at home, cellular #, height weight hair color and length, eye color, list of medications, size shoe they are wearing, amount of money they have access to. (In case they buy a motel room, bus ticket, train ticket, airplane ticket, taxi fare, food, change of clothing, etc.)

If the local law enforcement won't do anything, contact International K9 Search and Rescue Services right away. YOU don't have to wait 24 or 48 hours to file a missing persons report if your loved one has medical issues. contact police and us right away.
